The University Endowment Lands (UEL) Advisory Design Panel (ADP) provides advice and recommendations to the UEL Manager on development permit applications referred to it under the Land Use, Building and Community Administration Bylaw, and on other land use and bylaw matters that might benefit from its input.
The ADP was formally established in March 2008, replacing the Advisory Planning Committee which had been performing a similar function for many years.
The ADP meets monthly or as necessary, and is comprised of seven Professional Members made up of Architects, Engineers and Landscape Architects, as well as Neighbourhood Panelists, who attend meetings when items are being considered from their respective neighbourhood. The ADP Terms of Reference can be viewed here.
Professional members are recommended to the Manager by their professional associations. The Manager reviews the nominations and, on finding the nominees in good standing with their professional associations, appoints them to the ADP.
Neighbourhood Panelists are elected in each neighbourhood and stand for a two-year term. Neighbourhood Panelists were elected to the ADP in October 2022.
The current ADP membership, as of December 2024, includes:
